Program Overview

  • All participants at Prevail Academy engage in structured, hands-on learning and work experience.

  • This component is required to complete any diploma or career certification program.

  • Focused on providing real-world skills, workplace exposure, and professional habits needed for career success.

  • Prepares participants to transition confidently from the classroom to employment or further training.

Curriculum & Studies

  • Includes a combination of:

    • Internships in relevant industries

    • Job shadowing with experienced professionals

    • Volunteering to apply skills in community or workplace settings

  • Structured learning aligns with program goals, linking practical experiences to academic and career outcomes.

  • Encourages the development of soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, time management, and workplace professionalism.

Learning Experience

  • Participants rotate through varied hands-on experiences to gain exposure to multiple career paths.

  • Mentors and instructors provide guidance, feedback, and coaching throughout each experience.

  • Practical experiences are documented and reflected on to ensure learning objectives are met.

  • Focus on building confidence, independence, and the ability to adapt to professional environments.

Hands-On & Practical Requirements

  • All hours are unpaid, consistent with workforce development and internship standards.

  • Required to complete a set number of hours for:

    • Career certifications

    • Diploma programs (Adult HS, Alternative HS, etc.)

  • Opportunities include:

    • Internships at partner businesses or agencies

    • Community volunteering aligned with program objectives

    • Job shadowing in various career areas to observe workplace expectations

  • Emphasizes accountability, responsibility, and professional behavior.

Program Outcomes

  • Fulfillment of diploma and certification requirements through practical experience.
